A message from our PTA President, Stanford Togashi

Aloha Noelani ʻOhana,
First and foremost, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Principal Gusman, along with all of our teachers, staff, and A+ leaders, for keeping our keiki safe during the recent flash flood. It was truly a disaster, and we are incredibly fortunate that no one was hurt. Had this occurred even 30 minutes earlier or later, the outcome may have been very different.

While our school regularly practices for emergencies such as fires, lockdowns, and evacuations, witnessing how calmly and effectively everyone responded in this situation was nothing short of amazing. From coordinating safe and orderly pickups to assisting students across muddy floodwaters, it was clear that the Noelani team acted with professionalism, care, and an unwavering commitment to our keiki.

I would also like to offer my sincere apologies and deepest sympathy to the teachers, staff, and A+ leaders whose vehicles were damaged or destroyed. As the stream quickly turned into a rushing, muddy river and overflowed its banks, these individuals made the selfless decision to remain with our keiki to ensure their safety. Some even watched their vehicles being damaged while continuing to focus on getting every child home safely before tending to their own losses. Words cannot fully express how sorry we are for what they are going through.

Mahalo as well to Representative Andrew Garrett, Councilmember Scott Nishimoto and his staff, CAS Linell Dilwith, Noelani parents, and even grandparents who stepped in to help during the emergency and began cleanup efforts—even while floodwaters were still moving through campus.

Why does the PTA matter?

  • We serve as a conduit to facilitate parent and community involvement with the school.
  • We help to promote school spirit, relationship-building, and FUN through PTA-sponsored events such as the Craft Fair, Jogathon, May Fair, Hall o' Treats, and other fun events!
  • We raise funds to help supplement the school budget to purchase supplies and equipment, assist with projects, and provide additional educational opportunities.

Come see what we're about, meet some new people, and most importantly,
have your voice heard.

  • PTA Meetings are normally held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6 pm.
  • Meetings are currently held in-person and online via Zoom.
  • Meeting links are sent out to Noelani families via email during the week of the meeting.

Please join us!  We'd LOVE to have you!
